A Chemical Separation and Measuring Technique for Titanium Isotopes for Titanium Ores and Iron-Rich Minerals

Ti-isotope fractionation on the most Ti-rich minerals Earth has not been reported. Therefore, we present a chemical preparation and separation technique for mineralogic, petrologic, economic geologic studies. A two-stage ion-exchange column procedure modified from previous literature is used in current study to separate Ti Fe-rich samples, while ?-TiO2 does require separation. Purified solutions conjunction with solution standards were measured two different instruments dry plasma medium-resolution mode providing mass-dependent results lowest errors. 49/47TiOL-Ti solids analyzed here demonstrate range of >5‰ far greater than whole procedural 1 error 0.10‰ synthetic compound 0.07‰ mineral magnetite; thus, produces resolvable within these minerals.
